Transplant in Range Rover Insists They’re Just Like Everyone Else

Tina Wilson grew up in the East Bay area of California. Although she tells people she’s from Oakland she actually hails from the mean streets of Orinda. Tired of sprawling estates and debating the merits of Syrah vs. Cabs. Tina put in for a transfer to work remote for Wilson Ventures, LLP where she is the social media manager. Craig Wilson, managing partner (no relation…Ok, Tina), said that embracing a remote workplace will be best for their Instagram, or whatever the hell Tina does.

“It’s All Wheel Drive. I don’t see why everyone looks at me funny. I need this car. The piano wood accents are just a bonus.”

Tina needed new wheels for the move to her idyllic Mountain Town. Too cultured for a Jeep Wrangler and not cool enough for a Toyota 4Runner. She settled on a Range Rover Sport HST (msrp: $85,700). The car does seem to stick out among the locals but Tina isn’t letting that hold her back. She can talk the talk and walk the walk. After all, her folks have a cabin in Tahoe. She’s skied two weeks out of every year since she was in kindergarten. As for the summers, Tina is looking forward to driving on a dirt road for the first time in her life. A place where her new rig will really shine (according to the commercials). The horizon is bright for Tina. She traded in tapas for nachos and carafes of wine for pitchers of beer. Who knows how long it will be before she gets bored and moves back to a city. Sources say it won’t be before she buys up several pieces of real estate.
