Breaking: Guy with Tibetan Prayer Flags Also has ‘Jah Love’ Tapestry

Ever wonder where that guy who had the blacklight posters in college ended up? Some Tibetan prayer flags might be a good indicator. The cultural appropriation gripe always seems to end where the mountaineering documentary enthusiast lays their head. Karl has never been to Tibet but he’s seen pictures and has a bizarre obsession with Jimmy Chin.

“I’ve never been but my aunt picked these up when she went trekking in Nepal. She has a ‘Free Tibet’ sticker on her Honda CRV. So yeah you could say that was the inspiration”

Despite not knowing a single Tibetan prayer. The flags are proudly displayed over the front door of Karl’s ground floor apartment. Step through the threshold and you’re greeted with the smell of incense and drying ski boot liners. In a shocking turn there is also a marijuana leaf tapestry above the futon that reads “Jah Love”. The cultured specimen that is Karl continues to amaze as he kicks back in his plaid recliner to reveal some genuine Inuit mukluks. This is a man that has read Into Thin Air at least once and won’t hesitate to let you know that the book was better than the movie. And he’s right.
