The end of an era. Raichle’s original boot design has found another suitor in K2. The design really saw growth among the grommet park rat contingent under Full Tilt. Imagine how many terribly behaved teenagers found a new pair of Full Tilts under their Christmas tree in the last 10 years. Likely a reward from their parents for achieving a 2.0 GPA that fall semester.

Before the community college classes and the failed clothing brands, park rats identified themselves with one mainstay, Full Tilt Boots. Though not the most technically sound piece of equipment; it was definitely the ‘steeziest’. The likes of which were sported by Tom Wallisch and Bode Miller. The chapter is over but the legend lives on. By this Summer the three piece boot design will be rolling off assembly lines in scenic Guangdong, China and argued over in Seattle boardrooms.
Maybe it’s not goodbye but more see you later. One can’t help but think that the straight-laced corporate K2 can’t keep the punk identity that Full Tilt garnered.
